Northern corridor, September 2026

Summary

The network delivered 95.8% of 88,165 drops on time in the last 30 days, clearing the 95% target for an eighth week running. Three depots did not, and every one of them routes freight through the same cross-dock.

  • Depot 14, Harbour, led for a third month at 97.8%.
  • Depot 17 and Depot 31 and Depot 26 fell below target; Depot 26 is the lowest at 92.7%.
  • Cost per drop fell 2.8%, almost all of it from the new diesel contract.

On-time delivery

The weekly rate climbed through July and held above target through August, and reached its best in the week of 7 Sep. The rate is weighted by drops, so a large depot moves it more than a small one.1

Lane share

Northern and Harbour carry almost half the network between them. Returns remains the smallest lane and the most expensive per drop, which is structural rather than a performance problem: a return is a collection and a delivery.

Depot performance

Five of 8 depots cleared target. The 3 that did not have been falling since late July, and all of them route through the Depot 17 cross-dock, where dwell time rose 22 minutes after a shift change on 3 Aug.2

Exceptions

258 exceptions were raised in the five weeks to 13 Sep, 7% fewer than the five before. Late drops remain the largest cause; the spike in the week of 24 Aug is the Depot 17 shift change working through.

Method and sources

Every figure in this report is computed from the same two sources, frozen at 06:00 on 14 Sep 2026. Numbers will not change if the report is reopened.

  1. 1A drop is on time when it is scanned inside its promised window. The network rate is late drops over all drops, not the mean of depot rates. Back to text
  2. 2Dwell time is measured from inbound scan to outbound scan at the cross-dock, from the gate scanner log. Gate 2 was offline for 9 hours on 12 Aug; those scans are excluded. Back to text
